Gladiators, ready!

A very quick post now as it's 11:30 at night and I have work tomorrow...

I have just finished one of many mini-projects, an image for a Gladiator game by Mik Hollands, here's the pencil image:

And here's the finished piece!

Now I'm off to have nightmares about shading lions!

Enjoy!

More posts coming soon on my other on-going conquests...

Fiora Update

Though it is not a radical change, it is an important one... since posting my last piece on my Fiora model I realised that the face was in dire need of change (even more than I thought at the time), so I set about making it as much like the real Fiora as possible...

Here is the result:

I am currently also working on a Gladiator illustration which I will post as soon as I get the pencil work done!

Fiora Cavazza.

If you have never played Assassin's Creed, or if you have played it but haven't ever bothered researching into it in ridiculous detail then the name Fiora Cavazza will mean very little to you...

Fiora is a character in Assassin's Creed who is playable during multiplayer, it has a small bio next to the character selection page, but a larger history is available in a set of short stories called Assassin's Creed Project Lineage...

When I first read Lineage I planned to illustrate some of the stories as a comic book, which I started and is now buried in a cupboard... I still wanted to do something related, and so I decided to whip out the Sculpey and try to make a scale model of Ms. Cavazza.

I started by making a mannequin from crumpled foil and then layering this with Sculpey...

Once I had the Sculpey covering the mannequin I made some of the clothing for the torso, making sure to keep one hand free to hold a fan (Fiora's choice of weapon is a blade-tipped fan) before realising my fatal flaw... she is right handed...

So... after making some monumental changes the arms were corrected... I started working on the frills of the sleeves, the fabric of the shirt and general posture, plus refining the legs a bit as at this current moment they resemble the Thing...

This is how she currently looks, there is still a lot of work to be done, but that's the beauty of Sculpey... you can leave it in a drawer and come back to it in three weeks and it's fine!

In the mean-time, I have a few other projects going on which I will post here soon!

Here's some links to the ongoing project:

Lazy Red's Blueberry Gin

My family has an old Sloe Gin recipe that has been passed down over the years, so for my Girlfriend's Dad's Birthday we decided to add a new twist to it, and so the Lazy Red Cat Brand Blueberry Gin was born!

We made it a few months ago and while it matured I made this label for it...

This is the finished bottle, ready for shipping...
